Purpose: The purpose of these initial exercises is that
the instructor will use them for demonstrating the basic functionality in the course
Work Requests, which entails:

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to introduce you
to the basic functionality of the Work Requests course, and to help you understand
how to create fault reports.
Prerequisites: The table below lists all course data needed
to perform this initial exercise.

Fault Report
Steps: To complete this exercise, perform the following
steps.
- Open the Fault Report
window.
- Create a new fault report (F5).
- In the Reported By field, enter the signature of the person who created
the fault report. Use the List of Values (F8).
- In the Directive field, enter the following description of the fault:
The pump is leaking.
- In the Maint. Org. field, select the maintenance organization that
will receive the fault report. Use the List of Values (F8).
- Save the new fault report (F12).
Note: All the above steps are required. You can enter additional information
in the More Information about the Fault section. All entries in the
Fault Report window can also be made in the
Prepare Work Order window, where you can link additional information to work
orders.

functionality of the Work Requests course and to help you understand how to create
work requests.

Active Work Requests
- Open the
Active Work Requests
window.
- Create a new work request (F5).
- In the Maint. Org. field, select the maintenance organization that
will receive the work request. Use the List of Values (F8).
- In the Directive field, enter the following description of the requested
work: Repainting of the machine.
- In the Reported By field, enter the signature of the person who created
the work request. Use the List of Values (F8).
- Save the new work request (F12).
Note: All the above steps are required. You can enter other information
in this window. All entries that in this window can also be made in the
Prepare Work Order window, where you can link additional information to work
orders.

Service Request
- Open the
Service Request
window.
- Create a new service request (F5).
- In the Reported By field, select the signature of the person who
made this record. Use the List of Values (F8).
- In the Contact and Phone No fields, enter the name and phone
number of the person who requested the service.
- In the Directive field, enter a brief description of the service
to be performed or the fault that was observed.
- In the Customer Name field, select an appropriate customer. Use the
List of Values (F8).
- In the Maint. Org. field, select the maintenance organization that
will be the one that will execute this service request. Use the List of Values
(F8).
- Save the new information (F12).
- In the
General
tab, right-click and then click Objects for Customer. Note that this
option is available only for equipment objects.
- Select an appropriate object in the upper table.
- Click Select to confirm the selection.
- Save the new information (F12).

and prepare a work order quotation.

Prepare Work Order Quotation
- Open the Prepare Work Order
Quotation window.
- Create a new work order quotation (F5).
- Enter a number for this revision in the Revision field.
- In the Description field, enter a brief description of the quotation,
e.g., Request for service of copy machine.
- In the Valid To field, enter the date to which the quotation is valid.
- Save (F12) the new quotation.
- Click the
Customer tab.
- In the Customer ID field, select an appropriate customer using the
List of Values (F8).
- Save the new record (F12).
- Click the
Prepare tab.
- Create a work order from this quotation (F5).
- If not already done, enter a brief description of the work to be performed
in the Directive field, e.g., Replacement of bearings.
- In the Reported By field, enter the signature of the person who created
this quotation work order. Use the List of Values (F8).
- In the Object ID field, select an object ID from the List of Values.
- In the Maint. Org. field, select the maintenance organization that
will be responsible for the work order. Use the List of Values (F8).
- In the Work Type field, select an appropriate work type. Use the
List of Values (F8).
- Save (F12) the new record.
- Right-click and click Print Quotation and Change Status.
- Next right-click and click Follow up.
- Close the
Prepare Work Order Quotation window.
Note: Continue by following up on the work order quotation. This is done
in the Follow Up on Work Order
Quotation dialog. To follow up on a quotation, you must have changed its
status to Follow Up.
