Usage

Use this window to define Financial KPIs, i.e. KPI measures based on arithmetic calculations using Financial KPI Elements. The elements refer to a cube measure that is sliced with respect to a specific node in a cube dimension hierarchy. This means that elements based on a Balance Sheet or an Income Statement structure can be combined to define a KPI measure in the target OLAP cube. This approach makes it very flexible and easy to define a number of different Financials KPIs.

One example can be to use an element representing the Operation Result and to add it to an element representing the Financial Result in order to define the Financial KPI named NETRES, i.e. Net Result.

• The element OPRES is based on the measure Act (actual value) and the node 1 - Operational Result in the Income Statement structure, in the cube represented by the dimension IS ACC STRUCT CG and the dimension hierarchy ISHy
• The element FINRES is based on the measure Act (actual value) and the node 2 - Financial Result in the Income Statement structure, in the cube represented by the dimension IS ACC STRUCT CG and the dimension hierarchy ISHy.
• The KPI measure NETRES is thus calculated as OPRES + FINRES

When a Financial KPI Definition has been completed, always make sure that the definition is correct by using the right-click Validate KPI. The KPI definition will be validated in the target OLAP cube but not published in the cube.
