This activity is used to define Financial KPI Elements that are used as input when defining Financial KPIs. An element is always defined in a Cube and Company Group context and will always be based on a node in an Accounting Structure. The type of structure to be associated with the element should thus be defined, typically a Balance Sheet or Income Statement structure. A Financial KPI Element refers to a specific measure in the current target OLAP cube in the context of a Hierarchy Node in a cube Hierarchy in a specific cube dimension, e.g, this means that an element for operating result can be defined by using cube measure Act YTD in measure group GL ANALYSIS and using node "Operating Result" as defined in the Accounting Structure for IS that is connected to the used Company Group. Both aggregated nodes in an accounting structure as wells as individual accounts on the lowest level can be used. For nodes the identity is the node description. For accounts the identity is the account identity.
The Dimension Name and the Hierarchy Name comes from the OLAP cube and can be manually entered if known, else it is possible to use List of Values as long as SQL Server AMO and ADOMD in Microsoft SQL Server 2014 Feature Pack has been downloaded and installed on the client machine. However using List of Values will list all available cube dimensions as well as all attributes and hierarchies in that dimension, so it will still be necessary to know what dimension and hierarchy to choose. The Dimension Name can typically be ACC STRUCT IS CG and the Hierarchy Name ISHy. The Hierarchy Node will list all available nodes in the Accounting Structure defined by the Structure Type in the Company Group.
