Create Node
Explanation
This activity is used to create and connect a new node 
in a consolidation structure. A node generally represents a group of entities 
of which the balances should be independently consolidated. 
Prerequisites
In order to perform this activity, a consolidation 
structure should exist.
System Effects
As a result of this activity:
	- A new node is created with a connection to the consolidation structure.
 
	- An elimination node is created in which the 
intercompany elimination postings are created for intercompany 
transactions. The elimination nodes are visible only in 
	the Consolidation 
	Details Analysis window.

Create 
Node
Procedure
To create a new node in a consolidation structure:
	- Open the 
	Consolidation Structurewindow and 
search for the consolidation structure for which the new node should be created.
 
	- Right-click on the node (or top node) to which the 
new node should be connected and click Create New Node to open the
	Create New Node dialog 
	box.
 
	- Enter an ID for the node in the Node 
field.
 
	- Enter a description for the node in the Description field.
 
	- Enter a value in the Currency Code field to specify the currency in 
	which the consolidated balances for the node should be presented. The List 
	of Values can be used to select the relevant currency code.
 
	- Enter the ownership percentage for the connection in 
	the Ownership field.
 
	- Select a value for the Consolidation Method 
	field.
 
	- In the Event Date field, enter the date on which the group of 
	companies represented by the node were acquired.
 
	- Modify the value displayed in the Period  
	field if required. (Note: A value is automatically displayed when the 
	event date is entered.
 )- Enter a description in the Comment field if 
	required.
 
	- Double click on the Notes check box, if you 
	want to enter notes about the creation of the new node.
 
	- Click OK.
 
To create a new node as the top node:
	- Perform steps 1-5 of the previous procedure.
 
	- Select the Create as Top Node check box. (Note: 
	The Node Above field is automatically cleared when you select 
	this check box.)
 
	- In the Ownership field, enter the ownership percentage relevant for 
	the connection between the previous top node and the new top node.
 
	- Select a value for the Consolidation Method 
	field for the connection between previous top 
	node and the new top node.
 
	- Perform steps 8-11 of the previous procedure.
 
	- Click OK.
